NLC Wine & ROYCE' Chocolate Pairing @ ROYCE’ shop, Ben’s Independent Grocer, Publika~


Chocolate and wine, some said the pairing cannot be done, well the truth is with some effort & a bit of time in experimenting the right combination, it would be a match made in heaven. ^^ In order to create a genuinely exquisite experience of pairing two most historical revered tastes on the planet, premium Japanese  chocolatier ROYCE’ partnered up with Nam Lee Cheong Wine Shop to embark on a joyful gourmet journey, pairing different dark and milk chocolate varieties with carefully selected wines.

Just the other day chocolate connoisseurs and wine aficionados were invited to a lovely NLC Wine & ROYCE’ Chocolate pairing session at the ROYCE’ shop, Ben’s Independent Grocer Publika, savouring the delightful sensation of expertly pair ROYCE’ milk & dark chocolates with a selection of fine Australian and Chilean wines.

*Tips for successfully pairing wine with chocolate:

Smell wine..
Twirl wine in a glass & breathe in all of the aromas in a long, smooth whiff.

Smell chocolate..
Lightly rub the chocolate’s exterior, place towards the nose & smell to stimulate your senses.

Taste chocolate..
Take a small bite & rest the tongue for 10-15 seconds. Notice how different aspects of the chocolate’s composition melt at different times, & the highlight of multiple flavours via your senses throughout the experience.

Taste wine..
Take a sip of wine & sense the balance & complexity of the chocolate & wine on your palette. Move the chocolate around your mouth & lightly bite.
