Crispy Crust -Fried Crispy Chicken- @Bandar Sunway

Crispy Crust @Bandar Sunway

Tokyo Pastry Bakery & Cafe @Avenue K

For those who haven’t noticed, Avenue K has just gone through a major rejuvenation project with quite a number of new tenants opening their doors at this newly-refurbished mall located at the heart of Kuala Lumpur. With great variety of outlets & several new arrivals in Malaysia market, the mall is foreseen to be a new fashion attraction for city folks. With that being said, what interested me more is the new F&B outlets featuring cuisine from both East and West, and thanks to Foodirector a few of us were invited to one of the lovely outlet for a wonderful taste of Tokyo Pastry东京菓子. ^^

Tokyo Pastry Bakery & Cafe, M-20 & SAC-M-1, Mezzanine Level, Avenue K.
Love the warm & cosy European style interior design.
the old school deco makes a wonderful subject for vintage photography ;)
Tokyo Pastry has been involved in the café bakery concept since 2012, serving a fabulous assortment of breads, pastries and cakes; as for those who looks for a meal, food menu at Tokyo Pastry offers an innovative Japanese, Asian and European culinary creations ranging from all day breakfast sets to pasta, burgers, chicken, salmon etc. Simply >Click here< for the complete menu.

a fabulous assortment of tempting breads & pastries :)
a quick glance at the menu. *click to enlarge*
Thanks to the warm hospitality from the owner we get to try out some of their customer's favourite from starters, mains to desserts, scroll down to check out the tempting food pics & my recommended dish ;)

Soups that we had. Aromatic Hearty Mushroom Soup cooked via fresh mushroom & porcini oil and creamy Salmon Chowder with carrots & celery, both are pretty appealing & tasteful, though some might find the complimentary bread to be slightly oily but still it goes well with both of the soups.

Hearty Mushroom Soup (top) & Salmon Chowder. (RM 10/pax)
Scallop Salad which come with four nicely seared juicy scallops and unique house dressing. (RM 15)
Kani Avocado Salad with fresh snow crab leg and healthy Japanese sesame dressing, topped with avocado & tobiko. A prefect choice for healthy seafood lover. (RM 13)
Before heading to the mains, let's not forget the attractive beverages available at Tokyo Pastry. For coffee lovers do try out the nicely brewed Lavazza coffee, otherwise the ice blended series would be a great choice. ^^

Ice Blended Matcha (left) & Ice Blended Oreo (RM 10/glass)
Cappuccino (left, RM 8) & Ice Mint Latte (RM 10)
Most of the mains are a fusion of Japanese & Western cuisine, which are quite attractive & interesting.

Tokyo Burger. Flavorful grilled chicken with seared onions, kyuri (cucumber) & teriyaki sauce served on a soft enticing matcha bun. (RM 15)
Kikkoman Salmon. Pan-seared to perfection salmon which is surprisingly delectable. Though the Kikkoman sauce doesn't really standout but still I enjoy dipping it with the potatoes. #recommended b^^d
Prawn & Baby Octopus Spaghetti. The tomato basil sauce spaghetti with fresh prawn was quite pleasing and the baby octopus added some extra credit to the dish. (RM 19)
Veggie Mushroom with sauteed button mushroom on toasted bread. Love the sweet-smelling butter aroma. (RM 13)
Pan-Seared Chicken with truffle sauce & herbed roasted potatoes as compliment.  (RM 19)
Last but not least, some luscious gourmet delights not to be missed, pleasing desserts to end our session! Arranged from top to bottom according to my personal preference. ^^

Matcha Red Bean Crepe. Smooth green tea ice cream with soft sweet crepe. #recommended b^^d
Bamboo Charcoal Mille Crepe
Matcha-Misu, combination of matcha, tiramisu & mascarpone cream. (RM 10)
Yamaimo
Choko Mousse Tart.

Pak John Steamboat & Yong Tao Foo @ eCurve Mutiara Damansara

It was pretty surprising when I first received an invitation from Nomsterads to attend a food review session of steamboat at e@Curve as I don’t recall that there is any steamboat restaurant in the centre. Well for those who share the same thought perhaps it’s time for an update as Pak John Steamboat & Yong Tao Foo has officially started their business at Lower Ground Floor, e@Curve (Lot LG-13A & LG-15), Mutiara Damansara.

Being the 2nd establishment after the first which begin operate at Wangsa Walk Mall nearly a year ago the later certainly has more to offer. Focusing on quality steamboat the restaurant serves Halal on-trend urban cuisines with most of the ingredients deliver directly from its very own group of companies involved in food manufacturing, wholesale, distribution and export businesses.
