Heritage KUL Ball 2014 Fundraising Gala: Save Our Shared Heritage

Over the decades Badan Warisan Malaysia (Badan Warisan) has been a pillar of strength & the leading national heritage NGO which committed in both conservation and preservation of our national historic buildings and places. Embracing a reputation for excellence in heritage conservation services spanning nearly three decades, the organization with its well established expertise has undertaken various accolades & awards winning building conservation projects.  

Celebrating the 31^st  anniversary in 2014, Badan Warisan is embarking on a two years rebranding exercise which will be kicking off by a fundraiser gala event themed the KUL BALL helding on the 20^th  of June 2014 (Friday) at the Majestic Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Despite developing an open, digital platform that links all heritage-inspired NGO’s & groups throughout the nation/region plus engaging the youth of Malaysia to be actively involved in the preservation of our national heritage, the event also looking forward to create a RM10 million Cultural Heritage Grants Programme which will be funding the conservation of our living heritage.

Also as part an education and awareness programme which will lead to the Heritage KUL Ball 2014, Badan Warisan will be hosting several interesting activities namely the Wayang Kulit Cross Cultural event coming up this June 10 at Badan Warisan’s Heritage Centre with finale at the KUL Ball on 20 June, Warisan Lab ft. Star Wars Wayang Kulit on June 14 & 15 also at Badan Warisan’s Heritage Centre and My City My Heritage project, an Instagram engagement project which cultural significance photos from the public were collected and will be featured on the digital wall at the fundraising event.

On top of these exciting events, moving forward over the next 24 months, Badan Warisan will also embark on i) Connecting Cultural Dots, ii) Share Cultural Knowledge & iii) Fund Cultural Innovation in order to create an environment to further educate, empower and engage younger Malaysians to be actively involved in a heritage centric culture.

So remember to mark your calendar and join us at the inspiring Warisan Lab and fund-raising ball to value our precious Malaysia's built heritage & legacy, the origin of our history and identity. Heritage KUL Ball 2014 Fundraising Gala invitations can be obtained from the secretariat at No. 2 Jalan Stonor, 50450 Kuala Lumpur. Places are available via a minimum donation of RM300 per invitation. Each donation is fully tax exempt.

Bad Boy Cooks @Setiawalk, Puchong

Have you ever attracted to a restaurant which claim serving dishes at an affordable price but ends up with a disappointing dining experience due to the not so satisfying food quality or simply because the so call affordable price ain’t really affordable for all.. Well here’s a restaurant which might tune your perspective more on the positive side.. Serving good food at a sincerely affordable price, ladies & gentlemen may I introduce you to the new franchise of Bad Boy Cooks, an American style diner which opens up at Setiawalk Puchong just few months back :) *clapclap*

Bad boy Caesar. Classic romaine lettuce with beef bacon, parmesan cheese & boiled egg. A mouth full of creamy cheese, meaty bacon and fresh lettuce taste absolutely wonderful. b^^d

Italian Tomato Soup. Delightful starter of tomato & herbs, not too sour & just nice.

Al Funghi Pasta. Creamy flavourful pasta with generous amount of cheese & mushroom which is pretty tasty on its own. For those who doesn’t mind of a slight raise in calories, beef bacon is what I would recommend for add on ;)

Double BB. Succulent giant burger consisting two thick homade beef patty with double cheese, freshly prepared upon ordering. For beef lover a 3 ringgit add on of chili beef is definitely worth a try.

Slawdog. Not as typical as it looks, the grilled to order sausage taste pretty yummy with the nice warm bun & coleslaw. b^^d

Grilled Lamb. Boneless grilled lamb shoulder slices marinated with garlic & spices, best eat while warm.

Grilled Fish. Dory fillet with butter & herbs. Love the buttery aroma & soft texture of fillet. b^^d

Finally a colourful, yummy & sinful dessert to end the post. Bad Boy Madness, a combination of ice cream, mousse, homade cookies, chocolate brownie & banana. The chocolate brownie, ice cream together with the chilling mousse is a perfect combination not to be missed. ;)

‘Release the Can’ With 100PLUS 1st Interactive Vending Machine in Malaysia

So after noticing the presence of 100PLUS first interactive vending machine in Malaysia since a month ago, finally the day has come to gain a personal close encounter experience. The task is simple, stand up against the ‘Release the Can’ challenge, nail it by releasing a real can of 100PLUS from the machine. So I went, I played, and the big question here is… Do I succeed?? *make a quick guess before you scroll down for answer* ^^
