When it comes to
western cuisines of European continent, Italian & French cuisines are
perhaps a rather popular selection for most people, what comes after would
probably be Spanish & Mediterranean dishes. Whereas for German cuisine, it is
constantly getting hammered along with British food due to the lack in variety
& culinary culture. Well
Brotzeit German Bier Bar & Restaurant,
a wonderful restaurant that I've recently visited (a Nuffnang tastebuddies food
tasting session ^^) will be a
perfect restaurant to disprove those critics on German food.

What most people
doesn’t realize is that on the contrary of those pre-conception, German cuisine
possess a greater variation than what you might think. Simply check out
>Brotzeit’s menu here< for verification :P .. Also over time they have evolved from a conventional
practice with distinct emphasis on beer, marinated meats & sour flavors to a
rather rich culinary expression. In simple words, German cuisine isn’t as bad
as most people thought, just check out what we had during our
Nuffnang
tastebuddies Brotzeit food tasting session & I’m sure you’ll agree with
what I’ve said. ^^
Brotzeitflade
Speck/ Bacon Pizza: Tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, bacon, onions, vine ripened tomatoes
and chili.
Though chili padi isn't something commonly seen on pizza, surprisingly it blend in well :)
Biermischgetränke/beer
mixes (Left to right): Schwarzer, Russ'n, Affensaft, Churchill, Bayrischer Longdrink & Radler.
Personal favor: Bayrischer Longdrink
& Mango Affensaft b^^d
Salat mit
Schafskase/ Feta Salad: Mixed salad with feta cheese, red bell peppers, semi-dried tomatoes,
onions, olives, garlic croutons and sour cream tossed with house dressing.
Main course of the day: Special Brotzeit® Oktoberfest
Platter: Brotzeit’s signature pork knuckle, lumberjack steaks, garlic pork sausages,
oven roasted chicken and gipsy bacon. (suitable among 5-6 person)
Some close up shots of the gigantic drooling platter :P The great tasty
German sausage is my favourite, crispy casing with chewy cylindrical pork meat taste heavenly. The gipsy bacon is nice, a little trick to make it even better, wrap some onion within before you eat. b^^d

It's a pleasure to have Brotzeit’s native Bavarian Executive Chef, Mr. Helmut Murmann serving us the specially crafted platter. ^^
Side dishes of Oktoberfest Platter: Sauerkraut(top) and
potato salad.
Kaiserchmarren/
Emperor's Cake: Shredded pancake with rum and raisin served with plum sauce.
An all time favourite among ladies according to Chef Helmut. The soft texture, sweet delicated buttery flavour with slight taste of rum is simply irresistible.
Bavarian Orange
Trifle: Refreshing layers of triple sec of rum and orange infused sponge fingers
and fresh cream.
My personal favourite due to the rich sensation, dip you spoon in deep to savour the wonderful combination of smooth bavarian orange cream & crumbly sponge fingers. ^^
Profiterole Duet: Chocolate profiterole with vanilla ice cream and cinnamon sugar apple
fritter on vanilla sauce.
Sweet & Savoury
Duo: Crispy chocolate bacon on white chocolate mousse with lemon pepper
marinated strawberries and apricot sauce.
