Arthur Guinness Projects Entrepreneurs For Good 2015 Awards Ceremony @The Tavern, GAB


Entering its third year, Entrepreneurs For Good, a GUINNESS® and the British Council collaboration programme in search for Malaysia’s brightest social enterprises continues with a series of roadshows and workshops took off earlier this year. Target at offering financial support and training to businesses set up not only to seek profit, but with the overarching goal of improving the lives of their local communities, 14 promising Social Enterprises were shortlisted this year in the competition to pitch for a seed funding of RM 240,000, along with training, mentorship, and guidance to help grow their businesses.

Just few days back the competition has finally come to an end as 14 finalists along with media and winners from the previous two years of Entrepreneurs For Good were gathered at The Tavern at Guinness Anchor Berhad to witness the born of Entrepreneurs For Good 2015 award winners ;)

Since the partnership of Arthur Guinness Projects and the British Council Malaysia back in 2012/2013, 6 Malaysian Social Enterprises receive this global funding per annum and this year the legacy continues to support and inspire bold individuals who passionate in driving change for the better in communities across Malaysia. 

The 6 winning Malaysian Social Enterprises will be awarded a seed funding of up to RM 40,000 each along with a bespoke training and mentorship package offering guidance throughout their business formative years as well as support to achieve their goal of bettering their communities. congratulation to the winners and a huge thumbs up for taking a step further for the good of our local communities b^^d

Entrepreneurs For Good 2014 Awards Ceremony @The Tavern, Guinness Anchor Berhad


The search for Malaysia brightest social entrepreneurs via The Arthur Guinness Projects Wave 2 which Kicked Off @ Publika Solaris Dutamas few months ago has finally come to an end with six Malaysian social enterprises received financial and business support up to the value of RM 240,000 from the Entrepreneurs For Good 2014. b^^d

Guests of the Arthur Guinness Projects in partnership with British Council’s Entrepreneurs For Good Awards Ceremony paying a visit to the exhibition booths by the programme finalists.


The six awardees will receive between RM 20,000 and RM 40,000 each as part of this year long program organized by the Arthur Guinness Projects in partnership with the British Council, as well as training, mentoring and other assistance to help them reach their objectives.

After getting through the primary stage where 20 semi-finalists were shortlisted from the nationwide search road shows and were given business mentoring and training over the last 6 months. The top 12 social ventures out of that were then selected to go into the final stages of the program. At a public pitch held in April 2014, the finalist then pitched their winning social business ideas in front of an expert panel of judges comprising of industry leaders and leading social enterprises out of which the final 6 awardees were chosen.

3.            Catama Craft Enterprise
4.            BYOB Green Concepts
5.            Ecocentric Transitions
6.            Shuttle GO

In addition, one of the remaining six Social Enterprises was awarded the ‘People’s Choice Award’ following a public vote on www.arthurguinnessprojects.com.my. The winning social enterprise for the “People’s Choice Award”, Tanoti, will receive training and mentorship from the Arthur Guinness projects and British Council.

Arthur Guinness Projects Wave 2 Kicks Off @ Publika Solaris Dutamas


Over 200 people came from all over the city to explore what it means to “Buy with Heart”, the first Arthur Guinness Project (AGP) social enterprise Marketplace held in Publika where consumers could learn more, as well as purchase social enterprise products and services. The event also marked the kick off to Wave 2 of the Malaysian Arthur Guinness Projects which is organised in partnership with British Council Malaysia.

The event which serves as a brilliant platform for people to turn ideas into reality showcased 4 social ventures that received funding from the Arthur Guinness Projects – British Council “Entrepreneurs for Good” Wave 1 program and The highlight of the evening was the Dutch auction where several one of a kind, up-cycled products from social enterprise Biji Biji Initiative were auctioned off to eager consumers at a steal! The pallet coffee table, bike wheel clock and the bottle bedside lamp were some of the most popular items auctioned. The visionary Arthur Guinness Project works in partnership with British Council Malaysia here in Malaysia with the aim to inspire people to contribute towards the community in a variety of ways. The Arthur Guinness Projects - British Council’s Entrepreneurs for Good program supports social entrepreneurs in making positive changes in  their communities by offering skills training and mentoring, along with access to UK expertise, peer networks and start-up fundingWave 2 of the program will see another 6 local social projects awarded with funding as well as mentoring and business support. For interested applicants who wish to contribute to the society, call for applications will close on the 21st of March 2014 so >Click HERE< now to download the application form and send in your applications. In determining successful applicants, an expert panel will be looking for projects that will inspire everyone across Malaysia; those that deliver on innovation, creativity, achievability, as well as cultural and social good.
