Modern Thai Cuisine: Fa-Ying by Rama V @Paradigm Mall, PJ


If you happen to walk pass the Boulevard @Paradigm Mall, you would probably notice a pretty artsy and eye catching restaurant which goes by an equally interesting name—— Fa-Ying by Rama V, a restaurant which comprise of a contemporary dark hues interior with striking fuchsia pink touch on the signboard. Unlike its multi-award winning ‘sister’ restaurant Rama V which offers Thai fine dining experience, here at Fa-Ying by Rama V what you would find is a series of Modern Thai cuisine and tapas where patrons could enjoy their meal or simply just sip & chill in a chic yet relaxed setting :)

Despite those commonly seen Thai cuisine, the forte of Fa-Ying by Rama V's menu lies within their modern style Thai food which is a display of interesting combination between authentic Thai flavor and chef's culinary creativity. The unique interpretations of Thai favourites can be easily seen across the menu from the tapas section to pasta and signature mains, to name a few of the customer's favorite we have the Salmon Lom Kuan (salmon in Manow sauce), Neur Dadt Deow (deep-fried marinated beef tenderloin strips), Fettuccini Gaeng Paed Ped Yang Sai Linchee (fettuccini with roasted duck curry lychee) and Pad Cod Yang Rad Sod Manow (grilled cod and vegetables in Manow Sauce).

Gai Sate: big chunks of flavorful Thai grilled chicken sate, equally good with or without the dipping  (RM 12) ^^
Salmon Lom Kuan: Salmon served with chef's secret Manow Sauce recipe (RM18)
Neur Dadt Deow: tasty deep fried sun-dried marinated beef tenderloin strips served with Thai Chili Sauce (RM 18)
Fettuccini Gaeng Paed Ped Yang Sai Linchee: Fettuccini with Roasted Duck Curry Lychee, though the lychee flavor wasn't as distinctive as imagine however the duck meat was surprisingly tasty and it actually match well with the savoury curry (RM 22)
Yam Neur Yang A-Ngoon: Grilled Beef Tenderloin Salad with Grapes & Mint Chili Lime Dressing, slightly overcooked for mt taste as I always prefer a juicier texture when it comes to beef   (RM 23)
Pad Cod Yang Rad Sod Manow: nicely grilled to perfection cod fish with fresh grilled vegetables in Manow Sauce, love the delicate texture (RM 48) b^^d
Larb Gai Tortilla: crispy tortilla served with spicy Thai chicken salad, a nice option for both appetiser and snack (RM 13)

The beverage menu is equally interesting with a wide selection of Thai favourites, creative cocktails, fresh juices, coffee & tea and the signature Ice-Pops!

Finally, ended the night with the usual ritual, desserts! ;) A sweet note by the delightful mango sticky rice, water chestnut with coconut milk and tiramisu to wrap up the meal, too bad we missed Fa-Ying's house' special Green Curry Chocolate Cake as it was sold out for the night -_____-
